ROCK YOUR SCHOOL:

China Spring Elementary is so excited to be participating in ROCK YOUR SCHOOL.  This year, from September 23rd-September 26th, our team of dedicated teachers at CSE is teaming up with “Get Your Teach On” to bring Rock Your School to life, creating unforgettable experiences and keeping our students eager to learn! 

What is ROCK YOUR SCHOOL?  It’s a dynamic initiative that transforms everyday lessons into engaging adventures, helping students look forward to coming to school.  To get a glimpse of what this looks like, check out this video: CLICK HERE

SEE YOU AT THE POLE:

This year’s global day of student-led prayer is September 25th.  If your student wishes to participate in See You at the Pole please have them dropped off at 7:00am in the back car rider line.  We will be gathering everyone on the back turf.

DRESS LIKE A ROCKSTAR DAY:

ROCK YOUR SCHOOL like a true Rock Star on September 26th!  Come dressed as your favorite rocker and get your learn on!

GT INFORMATIONAL PARENT MEETING:

Parents interested in learning more about the CSISD Gifted and Talented program are invited to join us on Monday, September 30th from 5:30pm-6:00pm at the Elementary School GT room (103).  This meeting is for prospective parents whose child(ren) do/does not already participate in GT services. 

4TH GRADE FIELD TRIP:

Fourth graders will be visiting Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose Friday, October 4th.  Buses will leave at 8:00am and should return back to CSE at 3:15pm.  We will send more information as the date approaches.

We will need some parent volunteers to monitor groups during activities.  The cost for volunteers is $8.00 at the entrance of the park.  We are asking that if attending as a volunteer that only one parent per child attend and no siblings please.  If you are volunteering, please know that the activities will be strenuous and will occur on rough terrain.  Volunteers are REQUIRED to be on the district’s approved volunteer list in order to attend this field trip.  Volunteer forms can be found HERE and returned to the front office, along with a photo copy of your ID.  Volunteer forms MUST be submitted AT LEAST 10 DAYS PRIOR to the trip.  Please remember volunteer forms are only good for one school year and must be completed annually.

PAJAMA DAY:

Every instructional Friday is Pajama Day at CSE!  On October 4th come to school cozy and ready to learn!  (2nd and 3rd grade only this day… 4th graders don’t want to wear pajamas to their field trip).

PICTURES WITH CUJO:

Our little Cougs are getting to celebrate homecoming with CuJo!  He will be on campus on October 9th, during lunch.  PTA will be here as well and will be taking pictures with CuJo.  CLICK HERE to purchase your student’s picture.

2nd GRADE FIELD TRIP:

Second grade will be going to the HOT Fair on Thursday, October 10th! Buses will depart at 10:30am and return at 2:30pm.  Students will need to bring a sacked lunch from home or order a sack lunch from the cafeteria. 

Chaperones are welcome to join and meet us at the Fair!  All chaperones will need to fill out a district volunteer form at least 10 days BEFORE the field trip.  CLICK HERE for district volunteer forms.   Admission is free for both students and chaperones.  We ask that no siblings attend. Students must ride the bus to the field trip , but will be able to be signed out and taken home by a parent/guaridan vehicle.  You are ONLY permitted to sign out your student though, you CANNOT sign out someone else’s student.

KONA ICE:

 Kona Ice will be on campus on Thursday, October 10th.  Students may purchase Kona Ice during their normally scheduled PE/Specials time.

ATTENDANCE REMIDNERS:

90% Law ~  The state of Texas requires students to be present 90% of the school year in order to receive credit for their current grade level.

Daily attendance ~ Attendance is taken every day at 9:30AM.  Your student must be on campus at this time to be counted present for the day.

When absent ~ Only 4 days total per semester can be excused by a PARENT NOTE (parent signed excuse).  For all absences exceeding 4, a doctor's note or other formal documentation is required.

All excuse notes must be turned in to the Front Office within 3 school days of the student’s absence. 

DRESS CODE REMINDERS:

o   The dress code will be enforced at all times.  Students out of dress code will be sent to the office and given the opportunity to change clothes.

o   Please see the reminder for dress code in regards to our handbook:

Hemlines on all dresses, skirts, and shorts must not be shorter than mid-thigh length (typically no shorter than 7” inseam or fingertip length).

Pants may not have holes above mid-thigh length.  No sagging pants are allowed.

Tights, leggings, or spandex may only be worn with a shirt, skirt, dress, or shorts that cover both the front and the back (no sheer panels; no skin may show through).

Tank tops must have a strap at least 2” wide.  No crop tops, mid-drift tops or tube tops are allowed.

TRANSPORTATION REMINDERS:

Morning car riders ~ Please use the car rider loops in the back of the school for morning drop-off.  Students are NOT allowed to be dropped off in the front of the school until after the car line barriers are in place.

Afternoon car riders ~ In the afternoon car rider line a SCHOOL-ISSUED car rider sign is required.  If the sign is not visible to the staff calling names you will be asked to go to the Front Office to check your student out with an ID.

Bus Riders ~ For safety, students are only allowed to ride their assigned bus.  They are not allowed to ride home with another student.

CSISD District bus policy ~ any student 2nd grade or younger must have a parent or guardian at the bust stop in the afternoon.  If a parent or guardian is not present the student will be brought back to the school upon completion of the bus route for the parent/guardian to pick up.

o   Early dismissal ~ If you wish to pick your student up early from school you must do so before 3:30PM.  A photo ID will be required to check your student out.

o   Transportation Change ~ If there is a change to your child’s normal mode of transportation in the afternoon, you must notify the Front Office by 2:30PM to ensure they get dismissed as requested.

CAFETERIA REMINDERS:

                2nd Grade - 11:00AM-11:40AM

                3rd Grade - 11:45AM - 12:15PM

                4th Grade - 12:20PM - 12:50PM

·       If you wish to eat lunch with your student a photo ID is required to check-in at the Front Office. 

  • Only visitors on the student’s contact list will be permitted.


·       If you wish to drop off food for your student to be delivered to the “cafeteria pick up table” by the Front Office please make sure it is labeled with their first and last name and teacher name.

·       Deliveries from third party vendors like DoorDash and GrubHub are not permitted.

o   4th Graders are permitted to use the microwaves in the cafeteria.  Please make sure they know how to use a microwave and prepare the food packed in their lunch boxes.  Please also send, microwave safe containers for their food.

o   PLEASE DO NOT SEND GLASS FOOD CONTAINERS IN LUNCH BOXES. 

NURSE’S NOTES:

We are seeing lots of sickness in the Nurse’s office.  Please be sure to follow district procedures when you have a sick child to help us reduce the spreading of germs and illness.  It is also important to remind our students to wash their hands routinely, cough/sneeze into our sleeve and not to share drinks with others.
