Happenings:

CSE FOOD DRIVE:   The season of giving is here—and what better way to celebrate than by helping families enjoy a warm, delicious holiday meal!  Our annual Holiday Food Drive Competition will officially begin on Monday, November 3rd where we will team up with China Spring Cares to give families in our community a holiday meal.

Students may bring in items from the “suggested foods” list and drop them off in the Character Education room.  The class with the most food items donated from each grade level will win the opportunity to pie Coach Yose and Ms. Tullos in the face.

Our goal this year is 2000 donated items!  Every item donated brings joy to someone’s table—and a little friendly competition makes it even more fun.  Let’s come together to share the spirit of the season and ensure every family can enjoy a holiday meal surrounded by love and gratitude.  The competition will end on Thursday, November 18th.

Suggested Food Items:  Boxed stuffing mix; canned green beans, corn, or sweet potatoes; instant mashed potatoes; canned gravy or gravy packets; cranberry sauce; boxed cornbread or muffin mix; macaroni and cheese; canned fruit; rice or pasta.

KONA ICE:  Kona Ice will be on campus on Thursday, November 6th during regularly scheduled recess.  CLICK HERE to order your child’s snow cone online.  The link will close at 8:30am on Thursday, November 6th.

2nd GRADE VETERANS DAY PROGRAM:  Our second graders will be performing a musical tribute to our Veterans on Tuesday, November 11th, “A Salute to Our Veterans for Protecting the Land That We Love!

We will have two performances that day.  The following classes will perform at 10:00am – Foley, Peters, Symank, Dominguez and Honeycutt.  Then, at 1:00pm the following classes will perform – Jolliff, Kahle, Rubio, Hughes, and Stubbs.  Both performances will be in the gym.

Everyone is welcome!  Please invite friends and family members who are Veterans so that we may thank them with this special tribute!

*Students should dress in patriotic red, white, and blue attire for the performance.

BENCHMARK TESTING:  The Reading Benchmark (practice STAAR test) is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12th and the Math Benchmark is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18th for all 3rd and 4th graders.  We ask that everyone has their child arrive to school on time and refrain from checking out early on these days.  PLEASE REMEMBER VISITORS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON CAMPUS ON STATE TEST DAYS (INCLUDING LUNCH VISITORS).

PROGRESS REPORTS:  Second nine-weeks progress reports will be available on the PARENT PORTAL by the end of the school day on Wednesday, November 12th.

PICTURE MAKE-UP DAY:  If your student was absent on our original picture day of October the 2nd or you are unsatisfied with your child’s school portrait, Picture Make-up Day is scheduled for Thursday, November 13th.  If you wish for your child to have their picture re-made please communicate this directly with your child’s teacher so they know to send them to the cameras.

*Please note, we changed picture companies this year.  Our new company is Photo Texas Photography.  CLICK HERE to create your students account so that you may purchase your child’s school pictures.
