Happenings:
INCLEMENT WEATHER MAKE-UP DAYS: Due to the inclement weather in January, China Spring ISD will use the bad weather days already built into the school calendar to make up missed instruction time. All China Spring ISD campuses will be open, and students are expected to attend school on Friday, April 24th and Friday, May 8th. These days were designated in advance and will now be regular school days to ensure the district meets instructional time requirements set by the Texas Education Agency.
CSE SPRING FOOD DRIVE: Our final campus community service project for this year’s Character Education class is here! From March 16th- April 13th we will be collecting nonperishable food items and snacks to donate to China Spring Cares, providing summer meals for families in need.
Items can be turned in to Ms. Tullos in the Character Education Room. The class from each grade who brings the most items will get to dunk Ms. Tullos and Coach Yose in the dunk tank in May.
STAAR PARENT NIGHT: On Tuesday, March 17th from 6:00pm-6:30pm we are having our STAAR Parent Night in the Library. During this time parents and guardians can learn about the STAAR test, understand more about ways to support their student, and even try takin the most recently released test. This event is mostly for third grade parents and guardians, but fourth grade parents are welcome to attend as well.
CLICK HERE to RSVP so that we may plan accordingly for the evening.
FUTURE CHEF NATIONAL CHALLENGE: Our Child Nutrition Team along with Sodexo presents the “Passport to Flavor” National Future Chef Challenge. We’re inviting all of our students to create a recipe inspired by a country or culture from anywhere in the world – from spicy tacos to tasty noodles or sweet treats – the possibilities are endless!
CLICK HERE to submit your student’s recipe.
One lucky winner from each grade will be chosen as a finalist to compete in our campus contest at China Spring Elementary School on Wednesday, March 18th. As a bonus, the winner of this event will be entered in a Future Chefs National Challenge for some great prizes.
SPRING & CLASS PICTURE DAY: Wednesday, March 18th is individual Spring Picture Day & Class Picture Day. Everyone should come dressed to impress with your best smile! Please remember this year we are using Photo Texas Photography as our picture day vendor.
A class photo order form was sent home prior to Spring Break (these need to be turned in on photo day). Individual spring portraits will be taken on a PROOF BASIS. On portrait day, students do not need to bring payment for individual portraits. Approximately 2-3 weeks after portraits are taken, your student will receive a proof, which will include pricing and ordering information.
Third 9-WEEKS REPORT CARDS: Report cards for the third 9-weeks will be posted to PARENT PORTAL by the end of day on Monday, March 23rd.
PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES: Friday, March 27th is one of our designated parent-teacher conference days. If you are interested in scheduling a conference with your student’s teacher please reach out to them directly to schedule a time for that day. If at any time you have questions about your student’s performance please email the teacher and they are happy to collaborate with you.
